Catalina Santos, the Counter Princess

Catalina Santos

A.J. Rubi

Catalina Santos is a character that the author made to respond to Disney’s imperialism over the Philippines. She was originally a character demo test by former Disney animator Aaron Blaise called ‘’Ophelia’’, as you can see in the picture below,

So here is the story,

In March 2022, Florida governor Ron DeSantis signed the Parental Rights in Education bill, which forbade the talk of LGBT in classrooms.

As a result, the staunchly immoral and pro-LGBT Disney fought back against DeSantis, thus Disney started to enter the American Culture Wars. Many conservative/traditionalist parents in America feared for their children’s lives saying Disney would brainwash them into immorality.

The news later spread that Disney alongside other ‘’woke’’ organizations were brainwashing children in schools about LGBT and other immorality. This continued until 2024 when Ron DeSantis and Disney made peace with each other, and when Trump revoked DEI for good.

However, from a Filipino perspective, it is very different.

From the perspective of a Filipino, this is a symbol of Americanism imposing its liberal values on to traditional-minded Filipinos, and this brings back painful memories of the Philippine American War of 1899, in which America subdued the Philippines.

If President Biden aborted many babies, and mutilated many children in the name of transgenderism, with Disney in full support, so did President McKinley order the massacre of our people in 1899.

Recently, there is a move in the US government to criminalize gender surgery for minors. Even if they protest the transgender mutilation of children, they will forget the mutilation of our people in 1899, in the name of imperialism.

However, this even applies to fiction.

For many years, Filipinos do not have a cartoon character of their own, because they had been silenced by Disney since the late 1940s because of American influence in the Philippines.

There had been Filipino cartoon films made in the late 90s to early 2000s, but are not as successful as the Disney foreign imperialists here.

It was not until today, that I created Catalina to fight off the Disney characters who had been imposing anti-Catholic (hence in my cartoons, Disney characters are anti-Catholic) and anti-Filipino values on to the Filipinos.

Catalina is a symbol of traditional Catholic values and those many Filipino cartoon characters who were never created because of Disney’s cultural imperialism, as well as those innocent children victimized by Disney, both for LGBT and non-LGBT purposes.

According to my story, Catalina was a Cebuano woman from the 1670s, during the Spanish colonial era, around the same time as the martyr Pedro Kalungsod, who is of noble descent, who marries a Cebuano nobleman named Alejandro Santos, who fight against the enemies of Spain, the Philippines and the Catholic Church.

I remember, when I was attending the mass of the SSPX-Resistance in February 2025, after mass, the Carmelite priest, Father John said to me to avoid watching Disney films. I told him that I liked to make cartoons, and Father John said that I will make my own cartoons that will teach traditional and Catholic values. And it happened. Father John interceded for me.

For those traditionalist families, it is time to dump Disney Princesses and instead focus on Catalina Santos. Whenever you are Filipino or not, as long as you are traditionalist Catholics, you will be inspired by her to resist against Disney, just as how many great Catholics in the past such as the Vendee in France, the Cristeros in Mexico and the Carlists in Spain resisted liberal tyranny. Spread Catalina’s picture far and wide.

Sincerely,

Ryan Antonio Jose Rubi
