A Christmas poem special

AJ Rubi

Let us start this article with this poem by Professor Plinio Correa de Oliveira

‘’When still very young,

I marveled at the ruins of Christendom,

Gave them my heart,

Turned my back on all I could expect,

And made of that past full of blessings.’’

I would like to make a commentary on this poem, because this not only applies to Professor Plinio, this also applies to my childhood. Unlike many youths of today, who were exposed to modernism of the late 2000s at a young age, I was exposed to many marvelous and wholesome good things, like hand-drawn animation from Disney and other animation studios (most of the cartoons I grew up were old Disney animation some even made before World War II), children’s books set in historical eras like Victorian era, historical books, classical music like Mozart and old songs, especially Christmas songs.

Saint Alphonsus Liguori once said that a man’s future relies on what he received as a child. Ever since then, my vocation to be like Walt Disney had to wait until I was age 18. When I was a child, I either had three of my vocations, number 1, to be like Walt Disney, number 2, to be an astronaut, or number 3, to be a Catholic priest. God chose me to be on the path of Walt Disney, and when I was aged 18, my vocation of being like Walt Disney was fulfilled. In January 2025, I drew my drawing of Dopey, the dwarf from Snow White. And since then, my drawing of cartoons had improved, drawing my own cartoon characters in rivalry with Disney characters. I intercede to many saints who were iconographers to help me in my career. My childhood dream of being like Walt Disney was fulfilled when I became 18 years old.

Be grateful to God for everything you have, and I wish you a merry Christmas!
