Plot of Alejandro and Catalina

Catalina Santos y Gomez
(Originally a character demo by Aaron Blaise)

To all my traditionalist friends and supporters.

Slowly I am  writing my Alejandro and Catalina story. The story was conceived in late 2024 to early 2025 (to be exact) originally about a Cebuano man who fights off the Moro pirates in 17th century Cebu. As part of my Catholic ''Disney Princess'' story, I consulted historically accurate sources about 17th century Cebu like Father Alcina's History of the Bisayan People published in 1668. One of the scenes in my stories is that of Catalina meeting Pedro Kalungsod, a famous Catholic Cebuano catechist because the story is set around the time of San Pedro Kalungsod. So without further ado, here is the story:

In the late 1660s, Alejandro Santos, a Cebuano nobleman related to precolonial nobility serves as an employee in the Jesuit Colegio de San Ildefonso (closed 1769, original building destroyed in WW2, and now the University of San Carlos) and Father Ignacio Sanchez, a Spanish Jesuit priest serves as his confessor and advisor. Meanwhile in the town of Mandawi, (now Mandaue), Catalina Gomez, a noble Cebuano girl donates money for the Jesuit missions in the Ladrones Islands supported by Queen Mariana of Austria and Father Diego Luis de Sanvitores. On her own conscience, Catalina donates money for the Jesuit missions for the salvation of souls, with the help of her confessor, Father Narciso Tomas, SJ. Alejandro is so surprised by a young girl who cares about the salvation of souls, and so decides to meet her. After Sunday Mass, Alejandro and Catalina meet for the first time, with Catalina later meeting the famous Pedro Kalungsod.
A few years later in 1670, a Moro pirate named Ali Pagtuga attempts to raid the Visayas. Heeding the call of Bishop Juan Lopez, OP of Zebu, Alejandro meets Sultan Muhammad Kudarat (died 1671) with emissaries. Even if Alejandro and Kudarat have a peaceful talk, this does not stop Ali Pagtuga from his evil plans. Alejandro then enlists as a soldier in the Spanish colonial army, with Catalina wanting to volunteer in imitation of Joan of Arc. Alongside Father Ignacio Sanchez, Alejandro and Catalina defeats Ali Pagtuga and Zebu is free from Moro pirates. Alejandro and Catalina later get married in the Cathedral (now Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral) in a ceremony celebrated by Bishop Juan Lopez and live happily ever after.

So that is the plot of the first book, there will be more stories about this power couple to come.
